The prestigious and long awaited Lexus Design Awards made its entry into the country with its first edition in India. It offers an international platform to identify and recognize the next generation of global creators and designers. Lexus Design Award India (LDAI) seeks to reward the best industrial designs executed by Indian designers, design consultancy firms and design divisions of Indian companies. The Lexus Design Award India is anchored in the brand’s values of excellence in design, ergonomics, sustainability, technological superiority and responsible consumption.
The inaugural edition of LDAI received phenomenal response from the design fraternity in the country. A whopping 707 entries were received with 268 from the professional design community and a hefty showing of 439 entries from students. Earlier this week, Lexus handed out 12 awards across 11 categories at a prestigious ceremony held during the Association of Designers of India-created Pune Design Festival.
The winners received a trophy specially designed by the renowned Michael Foley. They also earned the privilege of having their award winning design prototype displayed across Lexus Guest Experience Centers in Bangalore, Gurgaon, Mumbai and New Delhi.
“We are absolutely thrilled with the outcome of the first Lexus Design Award India. The volume and quality of the entries surpassed our expectations.
